Hi all , I have a s70 2.5 turbo. It is a super car , apart from the fact that when i floor it in second gear it is as though the clutch slips.I have tried turning off my traction control to no avail. Also when i raise the clutch to biting point it makes a funny sort of squealing noise. Does anyone know anything about this , Many thanks, Stu:

Its the clutch release bearing and they squeek for a very long time but they run on quality ball bearings. I have read on this site you can use a carefully aimed oil can through the side access to lubicate the bearing. Mine have lasted 165k and 182k with noise but no slip. BrianH

Try this Stuart, with the car stationary, apply the handbrake, start the car and engage 3rd gear, leaving the handbrake on bring up the clutch until it engages then raise your revs and try to drive off, if the engine stalls with the clutch pedal about halfway up your clutch is probably ok, if you can take your foot off the clutch pedal with the engine still running your clutch is shot. The squeal is just the thrust bearing and noting to worry about.
