Will not start Flashing lights

Tried to start our gerts s40 this morning to be greeted with a flashing immobilizer and engine management light flashing rapidly. If I am quick with the ignition key I get a splutter. I have only one key and I think the immobilizer on. I did however last night open the boot with the key, does the boot have some sort of deadlocking? Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance Dan

i can open the boot with the key on mine without the alarm going off. RE the none starting try locking/unlocking the drivers door a load of times if you are capable take the door trim off and try spraying the lock parts with wd40 and then lock/unlock a load of times ,failing that its probs a bandit job at the dealers ,you havent had your key by any strong magnetic things have you even big speakers could maybe knacker the coding in the key
