Hi Chris, I have a V70 same year same engine as you and i would say that in that rev range the car should be pulling strongly. Probably best to get the codes read or chat to a decent independant.

The codes can be very misleading & are far from gospel (blocked fuel filter gives the code 'slight fuel leak or fuel pressure to high' ,can be costly); squeeze the air hoses & look for a split then look for oil along the bottom of the radiator (sure sign of intercooler core split) as I said very common faults; the airflow meter could fail but I've not come across much evidence of this ~ however if it was a VW I'd look straight at the meter :thumbs_up:
