The windscreen and headlight washers on my S60 have both stopped working. There is fluid in the reservoir and the pump sounds like it is working, however when the washer lever is pulled, there doesn't seem to be any pressure in the pipes to the windscreen. I've checked the fuse, and tried following the instructions here: however, after taking the filler neck out, as the reservoir is full, I couldn't se any mesh in there. I tried feeling in the bottle but couldn't find anything. Is it worth trying to get to the pump, wherever it is!?!? Anyone got any ideas?

there is a nylon non return valve, in the pipework useually a tee piece that connects the right/left washers, it is known to fail

Whereabouts is the T piece located, is it in the bonnet lining?

I find it hard to believe that 1 T piece could cause both windscreen nozzles & both headlight nozzles to pack up at the same time. I tried feeling the pipe that runs up the bonnet hinge, while the washers stalk was pulled, and there was no change in pressure within the pipe. I think the problem lies with the pump. I guess I'll have to try and get the wheelarch liner out and have a look at the pump. Do the liner fixings unclip, or will I have to drill rivets out? Incidentaly, does anyone know if there is a Haynes manual available for the S60? I tried looking on the Haynes website and it appears that they don't do one?

As you say, Haynes don't seem to do a manual specifically for the S60, but I think the 2000-on V70/S80 one should cover most of the options regarding engines and bodywork. Robin
